When to Use

Morning and evening. After cleansing and toner, the essence goes on first as the treatment step, then the cream closes the routine. In the evening the essence can also be used in Mixsoon's texture-refining way — massaged over dry skin and wiped off — before the cream goes on. Use the pairing when skin looks dull, rough or dehydrated, during dry winter months, or through long stretches in air conditioning. In the morning, finish with sunscreen over the cream.

How to Use

• Cleanse and apply toner while skin is still damp.
• Dispense a few pumps of Bean Essence, spread evenly across face and neck and pat until fully absorbed.
• Follow with Bean Cream, applied over the whole face and pressed in — layer two to three thin passes on very dry areas rather than one thick one.
• Finish a morning routine with sunscreen.

Use both steps twice daily. For a weekly deep-refining session, massage the essence into dry skin, wipe away with a warm damp towel, then apply the cream.

Precautions

The two products have different sensitivity profiles and should be described that way at the counter: the essence is fragrance-free and essential-oil free, while the cream is naturally scented with bergamot, lavender and Roman chamomile oils, which carry naturally occurring fragrance allergens — customers with known essential-oil sensitivity may want the essence alone. Both are soy-derived and unsuitable for anyone with a soy allergy. When using the essence's massage-and-wipe routine, keep pressure light and skip it on active breakouts, broken or sunburned skin. For external use only; avoid the eye area and rinse with water on contact. Patch test both products before first full use and discontinue either if redness, itching or stinging develops.
