This is the original Head Spa scaler and the reason the rest of the line exists: a low-foam scrub gel in which sodium chloride is the very first ingredient and the cleansing comes from mild coconut-derived surfactants rather than sulfates. It clears the gritty, greasy layer shampoo leaves behind at the roots, with glycolic acid handling what salt cannot reach and tea tree extract taking care of the smell.

Key Benefits

  • Sodium Chloride leads the formula, giving a salt-grain scrub that is visible and audible as you massage
  • Glycolic Acid, an AHA, loosens the bond holding dead scalp cells in place, so flakes lift instead of being scraped
  • Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Betaine, Coco-Glucoside and Potassium Cocoate cleanse without a sulfate base
  • Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract with peppermint, rosemary, lavender and chamomile addresses odour and congestion
  • Centella Asiatica and Camellia Sinensis (green tea) extracts calm the scalp during and after exfoliation
  • Panthenol helps the scalp stay hydrated once the scrub is rinsed away
  • Scutellaria Baicalensis (Baikal skullcap) Root Extract contributes antioxidant support

When to Use

One to two times a week, at the start of a wash, for oily scalps, visible flaking, scalp odour and buildup from styling products. On the days you use it, treat it as the cleansing step rather than stacking it on top of a regular shampoo wash; alternate it with ordinary washes the rest of the week. It is the workhorse SKU of the line for salon head spa services and pharmacy scalp care shelves, and the variant to reach for when a customer wants tea tree rather than pure mineral exfoliation.

How to Use

  • Wet the hair and scalp thoroughly with warm water.
  • Apply a small amount directly to the scalp, working along partings across the head.
  • Massage gently for two to three minutes with fingertips.
  • Rinse off with plenty of warm water.
  • Follow with conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends. Use no more than twice a week.

Key Ingredients

  • Sodium Chloride — salt, physical exfoliant and lead ingredient
  • Glycolic Acid — AHA chemical exfoliant
  • Coconut-derived surfactant system — Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Betaine, Coco-Glucoside and Potassium Cocoate
  • Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract — clarifying botanical
  • Centella Asiatica Extract — soothing botanical
  • Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract — green tea antioxidant
  • Panthenol — pro-vitamin B5 humectant
  • Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract — antioxidant botanical
  • Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract — botanical extract
  • Herbal extract blend — lavender, peppermint, rosemary, chamomile, freesia and Monarda didyma

Precautions

The formula contains glycolic acid, a genuine AHA, alongside an abrasive salt content, so both chemical and mechanical limits apply. Avoid it on a scalp with scratches, open sores or active inflammation, and give it a few days' gap after colouring, perming or relaxing. The AHA can make exposed scalp briefly more sun-sensitive — relevant along the parting line, a thinning crown or a high hairline, so cover up in strong sun on the day you use it. Massage with fingertips rather than nails; the salt already provides the abrasion. Do not pair it with the Peeling Ampoule, Peeling Shampoo or Pink Salt scaler in the same session. The formula is fragranced and contains tea tree and peppermint, which can sting reactive scalps, so patch test behind the ear first. Rinse fully, keep away from the eyes, and stop use if irritation or soreness develops.
