A 100ml spray for scalps that run hot and greasy between washes. Niacinamide and caffeine sit in a fast-evaporating ethanol base, so the mist lands on the scalp, cools it, and dries off without weighing the roots down or dulling a blow-dry. In a line otherwise made of scrubs and peels, this is the one leave-on daily step — the product a customer uses on the five days they are not scaling.

Key Benefits

  • Niacinamide, vitamin B3, supports the scalp's barrier and is widely used where oiliness is the complaint
  • Caffeine is an antioxidant and a long-standing fixture in root-area scalp formulas
  • Menthol gives instant cooling on a scalp that feels hot, tight or itchy
  • Panthenol, as dexpanthenol, counters some of the drying effect of the alcohol carrier
  • Centella Asiatica and Camellia Sinensis (green tea) leaf extracts soothe and add antioxidant cover
  • Betaine acts as a humectant so the scalp is not left purely stripped
  • No AHA, BHA or retinoid, which means it layers safely on the days between a weekly scaler or peeling treatment

When to Use

On dry hair, daily or whenever needed, between washes. Morning after styling, after the gym, or in the evening as the liquid for a few minutes of scalp massage. It is the natural counter-sale next to an anti-hair-loss shampoo in a pharmacy, and the take-home item after an in-salon head spa service, because it keeps the cooled, clean scalp feeling going for days afterwards. Do not apply it straight after a salt scrub or an acid peel, when the scalp is freshly exfoliated.

How to Use

  • Part dry hair to expose the scalp.
  • Hold the bottle 10 to 15cm away and spray three to five times, moving across the whole scalp rather than soaking one spot.
  • Massage in with fingertips for thirty seconds to a minute.
  • Do not rinse. Style as normal once it has dried.
  • Suitable for daily use, or twice a day on a very oily scalp.

Key Ingredients

  • Niacinamide — vitamin B3
  • Caffeine — antioxidant active
  • Menthol — cooling agent
  • Panthenol (Dexpanthenol) — pro-vitamin B5
  • Betaine — humectant
  • Centella Asiatica Extract — soothing botanical
  • Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract — green tea antioxidant
  • Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract — antioxidant botanical
  • Chamomilla Recutita Extract — calming botanical
  • Alcohol (Ethanol) — solvent and fast-drying carrier

Precautions

Ethanol sits high in this formula, which is what makes it dry down so fast and also what limits it: on a dry, flaking, eczema-prone or freshly exfoliated scalp it can sting and tighten, so keep it off the scalp immediately after a salt scaler or peeling treatment and skip it entirely if the scalp is broken or sore. Menthol will tingle, sometimes strongly. No AHA, BHA, retinol or vitamin C is present, so there is no added sun-sensitivity to manage. Because it is an alcohol-based spray, keep it away from flames, heat and direct sun, and do not spray near the face or eyes — shield the eyes and rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs. Patch test behind the ear if the scalp is reactive, and discontinue if redness, itching or irritation develops.
